About Architects

Graduates of the Bachelor of Architecture from the Anahuac University, Alex Carranza and Gerardo Ruiz founded in 1982 Tarme - Mexican Architecture Workshop - which years later would change its name Carranza | Architecture Ruiz.

Since its founding, their projects have transcended generations, creating and matching the needs of each client in order to satisfy even the most demanding tastes. The attention to detail is critical to project success. Inspired by various schools of architecture, his work is a reflection of contemporary Mexico.

His work has been published internationally in various media such as "Spain Architectural Digest", "Russia Architectural Digest", "Mexico Architectural Digest", among others.

They have been Conferees invited by various universities in Mexico and currently serve as members of the Editorial Board of the magazine "Architectural Digest Mexico."

In 1991 the first volume of Mexican Architects presented Tarme’s profile and work, as did next 15 volumes of the Collection.


In 2006, Architectural Digest of Mexico published the article “10 Great Mexican Architects”, featuring the Casa de la Mora, a project developed by Carranza | Ruiz Architecture in 2003.


In 2006, Alto Tango restaurant in Polanco was designed and built by Carranza | Ruiz Architecture; the project won the Mexican Interior Design Association’s AMDI Award.


In 2008 AM Editors published the book "casas20houses", which sets out 25 year professional career of Carranza | Ruiz Architecture.
